I really should start giving more consistent updates on this blog… or maybe just a bit more info in general.
It’s been an exciting couple of months for me. Volume 2 of Tallah is in full swing over on Royal Road and, with it, some news are to be shared.
1. Tallah is getting a fresh cover in preparation for Amazon. Actually, I think that second part would be more news-worthy than the cover, but we’ll get to that in a bit. Yes, we’re getting a new cover, courtesy of the amazing Oleg Bulakh, a decision spurred on by many many people informing me quite gallantly that my current cover signals harem as a genre. Definitely hilarious, absolutely unintentional, and a good opportunity to set the tone for the covers to come. I’ve already got the next couple of books planned as well.
2. Tallah is heading to Amazon. Not in 2024 but the first couple of months of 2025. The story here is long, convoluted, and driven by me being a thick-headed imbecile so I won’t go into that. But, after this long and sinuous journey that started back in 2020… Tallah will finally reach Amazon. I have the second volume scheduled for editing this Fall, and the first release will feature the first two story arcs (Valen and Grefe) at what’s going to be about 250K words. Fun times ahead and a fuckton of editing on the horizon.
3. I have moved the story to a 3 times / week schedule. The schedule seems tenable for me, so for the time being it’s going to continue as such until I either burn out, or I crack up. Hopefully neither, but one never knows.
4. Due to very encouraging feedback received over the intermission period on Royal Road, Catharina’s Ascent is now going into full production for me. I will aim at writing at least one chapter per month for the story, as time permits, to share out on Patreon first, and Royal Road afterwards. The two weeks between story arcs were a lot more stressful that I’d like to admit, but the end feedback was very welcomed.
With that wonderful news out of the day, I can admit that May has not been a kind month for me and my writing. A combination of real life health-related bullshit and real life job-related bullshit have conspired to drop my output to nearly nothing for an entire month. I’m happy to say I’m pulling through and feel I’m back to near normal scheduling. My backlog is still hefty enough that I don’t feel pressured yet, and I don’t expect a change in that direction for the rest of the year.
The story for Book 1 is about three or four chapters away from being finished at this moment. I’ve started working on the outline for the next couple of arcs. Safe to say, there are many more creepy crawlies in store for you all, and some surprises that I hope will be welcomed.
